????雖然身為一個(gè)擴(kuò)張期風(fēng)險(xiǎn)投資人已有11年,我在向別人解釋風(fēng)險(xiǎn)投資公司如何不同于普通公司時(shí)仍然感覺有些怪怪的。下面列出的就是風(fēng)險(xiǎn)投資公司不同于普通公司的一些地方: ????1. 我們的目標(biāo)客戶范圍很小 ????2. 我們希望與目標(biāo)范圍內(nèi)的所有潛在客戶接洽,但最終需要將其中絕大部分拒之門外 ????3. 我們每年只需寥寥數(shù)個(gè)新客戶 ????4. 我們向客戶支付大量資金以建立合作關(guān)系 ????5. 我們希望客戶業(yè)務(wù)快速增長,遠(yuǎn)甚于我們希望自己業(yè)務(wù)增長 ????6. 如果客戶的業(yè)務(wù)無法實(shí)現(xiàn)增長,我們就會倒閉 ????7. 如果走運(yùn)的話,客戶會支付我們一大筆錢以終止合作關(guān)系 ????8. 我們需要頻繁地重建客戶群,因?yàn)?00%的老客戶最終都會離我們而去 ????9. 我們希望我們客戶被一家大公司接手 ????10. 如果我們的客戶被一大群蜂擁而至的投資者搶購的話,那就更棒了! ????我敢肯定風(fēng)險(xiǎn)投資公司還有很多其他的不同尋常之處。我有沒有什么遺漏之處? ????Scott Maxwell是OpenView Venture Partners的聯(lián)合創(chuàng)始合伙人。 |
????As an expansion-stage venture capitalist for 11 years, I still find it strange when I explain to people how a VC firm is different from a typical business. Here are some of the stranger differences: ????1. Our target customer segment is very small ????2. We want to meet all the potential customers in our target segment, but we need to turn away most of the potential customers ????3. We only want a few new customers each year ????4. We pay our customers a lot of money to start the relationship ????5. We want our customers to grow their business much, much more than we want to grow ours ????6. If our customers don't grow their businesses, then we will go out of business ????7. If we are lucky, our customers end the relationship and pay us a lot of money to end it ????8. We need to constantly rebuild our customer base, since 100% of our customers leave us ????9. We want our customers to be taken away by a large company ????10. Even better, we want our customers to be taken away by a really large, swarming mob! ????I am sure that there are a lot of other strange things about being a VC.
