他們分別是:家裝零售商勞氏公司(第44位)的CEO馬文?埃里森、藥品制造公司默沙東(第69位)的CEO肯尼斯?弗雷澤、金融服務(wù)公司TIAA(第81位)的CEO羅杰?弗格森、服裝公司Tapestry(第485位)的CEO吉德?蔡特林。以上均為男性,此前唯一一位上榜過的黑人女性CEO是辦公設(shè)備制造商施樂公司的烏爾蘇拉?伯恩斯,但她已于2016年卸任。
換算成百分比來看,黑人CEO的數(shù)量只占《財(cái)富》美國(guó)500強(qiáng)總數(shù)的0.8%。而根據(jù)美國(guó)政府的估算,美國(guó)國(guó)民中其實(shí)有13.4%是非裔,足見目前商界的人員比例之懸殊。即便是把自1999年《財(cái)富》美國(guó)500強(qiáng)榜單首次發(fā)布以來的所有黑人CEO累加起來,也不過只有17位。相對(duì)而言,2012年是非裔CEO上榜最多的一年,達(dá)到了6位。
近期,一名黑人慘遭警察虐待致死的視頻從網(wǎng)絡(luò)流出,美國(guó)數(shù)個(gè)大城市里抗議游行不斷、社會(huì)動(dòng)蕩因素急劇攀升,隨之而來的是大規(guī)模針對(duì)黑人的逮捕和宵禁。埃里森和弗雷澤兩位CEO在這兩日也就此現(xiàn)象公開發(fā)表了自己的觀點(diǎn)。
埃里森,這位服裝企業(yè)彭尼公司的前任執(zhí)行官、家裝零售商勞氏的現(xiàn)任CEO,在推特上講述了自己的童年經(jīng)歷。他出生于孟斐斯附近一個(gè)貧困的小村莊,在他兒時(shí)就曾親眼目睹父母被當(dāng)?shù)氐暮谌似缫暦ㄋ勰サ那榫啊?
“我個(gè)人十分理解你們當(dāng)中很多人的恐懼與沮喪,為了克服我們所有人正在面臨這些挑戰(zhàn),我們必須盡力發(fā)聲,漠視行為和無知的種族主義必須被消除?!彼谝环萦谏现苋瞻l(fā)給勞氏員工的備忘錄中寫道。
而藥品制造公司默沙東的黑人CEO弗雷澤,選擇于2017年從特朗普的制造業(yè)委員會(huì)辭職。那一年,數(shù)百名種族主義者和新納粹組織在夏洛茨維爾市進(jìn)行集會(huì),最終演變?yōu)橐粓?chǎng)暴力沖突,然而特朗普對(duì)此事不置可否,包括弗雷澤在內(nèi)的眾多民眾對(duì)此深感不滿。他于近期也再次在采訪中針對(duì)黑人受虐一事發(fā)聲。
“我們所有非裔美國(guó)人從那些錄像里看到的,是黑人正在遭受‘非人’的待遇,但我們本該是個(gè)‘人’。視頻里的受害者可能是其他非裔,也可能在哪天就變成了我自己?!备ダ诐稍谥芤辉绯拷邮蹸NBC采訪時(shí)說道。他看到的錄像里,一位名叫喬治?弗洛伊德的黑人被一名警察用膝蓋狠狠壓制了近九分鐘,最終致死。

Despite years of diversity programs and pious pledges by corporate America, the ranks of African-American chief executives running a Fortune 500 company remain maddeningly very slim: There are only four black CEOs on the 2020 list, which debuted last month.
They include Marvin Ellison at home-improvement retailer Lowe's (No. 44), Kenneth Frazier at pharmaceuticals maker Merck (No. 69), Roger Ferguson at financial services company TIAA (No. 81), and Jide Zeitlin at Tapestry (No. 485), who became CEO of the company that owns Coach and Kate Spade in September. The only black woman to ever helm a Fortune 500 CEO was Xerox's Ursula Burns, who stepped down in 2016.
That means that black CEOs make up a tiny fraction—just 0.8%—of the Fortune 500 despite African-Americans representing 13.4% of the U.S. population, according to the most recent government estimates. In all there have only been 17 black CEOs leading Fortune 500 companies since 1999. The peak was six in 2012.
With social unrest, protests, mass arrests, and curfews rocking America's largest cities in the wake of the most recent gruesome videos of treatment of blacks at the hands of police, Ellison and Frazier were among those to speak personally about the crisis.
Ellison, who had previously been CEO at J.C. Penney, tweeted about growing up in poverty in a small town near Memphis, raised by parents who had to endure the hardships inflicted by Jim Crow laws.
"I have a personal understanding of the fear and frustration that many of you are feeling. To overcome the challenges that we all face, we must use our voice and demand that ignorance and racism must come to an end," Ellison wrote in a note to Lowe's employees on last Sunday.
Merck's Frazier, who in 2017 resigned from President Donald Trump's manufacturing council, citing Trump’s tepid and widely criticized response to violence in Charlottesville, Va., when white nationalist and neo-Nazi groups descended on that city, also spoke in personal terms.
"What the African-American community sees in that videotape is that this African-American man, who could be me or any other African-American man, is being treated as less than human," Frazier told CNBC on Monday morning, referring to the video of George Floyd, an African-American man in Minneapolis, being fatally pinned down by a police officer's knee for nearly nine minutes last week.
He also said social turmoil was ultimately bad for business and the economy. "We can't have this toxic environment for much longer."
